Diagnostic Testing and Procedures
Determining the cause of neurologic symptoms is the first — and most important — step in a patient's care. An accurate diagnosis is vital for choosing the most appropriate and effective treatment. NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center's Department of Neurology features the latest diagnostic equipment and an experienced team of specialists who collaborate to interpret the results of those tests.
Diagnostic studies are performed by highly skilled technicians with formal training, and the results are interpreted by board-certified subspecialists. Testing is available for patients being treated by NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell physicians as well as those referred by doctors in the community. Results are generally available within 24 hours and may be communicated to a patient's other healthcare providers.
Our neurologists also collaborate with NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell radiologists who are experts in neuro-imaging and who interpret imaging tests such as computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging scans.
