Research and Education

Our staff of the Center for Sleep Medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center is committed to advancing sleep science and to educating and training the next generation of sleep specialists. Our specialists coordinate ongoing research studies supported by the National Institutes of Health and other grant-giving institutions. In this way, we have access to the most cutting-edge diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to help our patients with even the most challenging sleep disorders. Patients who qualify are offered the opportunity to participate in clinical trials. Examples of areas of study include:

  • The chemical basis of sleep disorders
  • Approaches to improving the quality of sleep
  • Sleep issues in adolescents
  • Sleep and public health
