The human nervous system is one of nature's most complex creations. We've made great strides in understanding how the brain works, and we've applied this knowledge to improving patient care for such common neurologic disorders such as stroke. Yet much remains to be learned. For patients with some neurologic diseases, we have the most sophisticated tests available to make an accurate diagnosis, but we cannot offer patients much more than supportive care. That's why your support is so critical.
At NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, the Department of Neurology takes a team approach to care. In addition to our doctors and support personnel, there is another vital member of our team: you. Your contribution to our work helps bolster our efforts to improve the care of patients with such disorders as stroke, Alzheimer’s disease, Huntington’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s disease), brain and spinal cord injuries, and multiple sclerosis.
You can choose to support a specific area of study or to honor an individual physician or clinical researcher. Or you can make an unrestricted gift, which enables us to expand our programs, purchase the latest, most sophisticated equipment, and renovate our facilities. Whatever you choose to give, it will help us to ease the burden of neurodegenerative diseases and other neurologic disorders on individuals, families, and society. No gift is too small, and all are welcome. Here's how to give:
